Biden Administration accelerated green lending by $90 billion after Trump's 2024 win
Energy Secretary Chris Wright revealed that more than half of the allocated loans, $49 billion, were awarded in the last two days, Thursday and Friday, before the Republican inauguration the following Monday.

Former President Joe Biden
The Energy Department's Office of Loan Programs approved more than $90 billion in green energy loans in the weeks between President Donald Trump's 2024 victory and his inauguration in January.
Energy Secretary Chris Wright released the information, calling the situation an "absolutely infuriating" last-minute spending spree. The number of loans approved exceeds the total accumulated by the office in its 15 years of existence.
"More than $90 billion in loans were closed or committed in the 76 days between Election Day and Inauguration Day,” Wright said during an interview with Breitbart News.
In that regard, Wright detailed that in 15 years, some $43 billion had been invested, almost half of that allocated by Biden. In addition, he indicated that more than half of the loans allocated by Biden, $49 billion, were granted in the last two days, Thursday and Friday, before the inauguration on the following Monday.

Wright explained that, over the previous 15 years, the Department of Energy's Loan Programs Office had invested about $43 billion, a figure that represents nearly half of what was approved by the Biden Administration after the 2024 election.
As he detailed, more than half of those loans—some $49 billion—were awarded in just two days, the Thursday and Friday before the presidential inauguration the following Monday.
"We had an election on November 5 last year, right? And President Trump won that election. After that election day and until President Trump’s inauguration, $90 billion—over twice what was done in 15 years—was done in 76 days," the secretary contended.
Chris Wright questions the office
“The government in general has not been a great picker of winners and losers because they don’t look at businesses. Governments look at politics," Wright said.
