Elon Musk steps aside. The leader of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) announced that he will reduce his economic spending on politics and is scaling back his work within the unofficial agency by working only two days a week.
In this way, Musk can focus on his facet as owner, chairman and CEO of companies such as Tesla, SpaceX, xAI and X Corporation.
During his appearance at Bloomberg's Qatar Economic Forum, held in Doha, Qatar, the tycoon confirmed that he would begin to reduce his political spending because he doesn't see "a reason" currently to spend money.
"In terms of political spending, I'm going to reduce it a lot in the future. If I see a reason to spend on politics in the future, I will do it. Currently, I don't see it," Musk said.
The tycoon became one of the pillars of Donald Trump's success in the last election. Musk donated tens of millions of dollars to the, now, president during the campaign. Also to political action platforms (PAC) linked to the Republican.
Trump was quick to place his trust in Musk and entrusted him with one of the main missions of the new Administration: that of reducing superfluous spending and restructuring federal funds. To this end, he created the DOGE, with Musk as leader alongside former Republican candidate Vivek Ramaswamy, although the latter left his position a few months ago to focus on his political career.
